Q. What size web site do I need?
A. Our typical clients will need a basic custom web site. This is a client that has a small business that is growing but, is not very large. The size of a site is often related to services or products that a business offers. For example, a business that just started and makes metal art may only have a few items that need to be showcased. They could achieve this very easily with a 4-5page basic custom site. On the other hand a business that makes clothing may have hundreds of products even if they have just started and therefore will need a medium custom site to showcase their products.
Q. How do I pick a design?
A. The design phase is a large part of the process and is an important one as well. We will help you implement your design ideas if you have them (with our expertise and guidance) or we can evaluate the message that you are trying to communicate to your users and help you to COMMUNICATE WELL with them. We believe that a custom solution allows a business to be unique in the communication process thus, helping them stand form competitors.
Q. What features will my website have?
A. Features are like toppings at the ice cream shop we want them all but, to many will make us sick. We can implement any feature that you can think of that is technologically possible. However, in our effort to help you COMMUNICATE WELL with your users we recommend that we only use features that somehow reinforce the user experience that we are trying to provide while communicating your message.
Q. Can I edit my website myself?
A. YES. A of our websites utilize a CMS (Content Management System) that enables mildly tech savvy people to edit there content. In general if you can use Microsoft Word then you can use our CMS’s.
Q. Can I add to my website later?
A. YES. Part of your ability to COMMUNICATE WELL is the ability to add and remove content at the drop of a hat. All of our CMS’s will allow you to do this but, for custom sites the layout needs to be considered in the original project so that the proper templates are created for later use. **Clients often assume that they can add pages to a site that will some how look different from the other pages on that site. This is simply not true. It is recommended that you are up front about future intentions to add/drop pages and styles so we can build a solution that best supports that.
Q. How long will it take?
A. You know it’s coming… Yes, it depends on the project. We can guesstimate the timelines based on our past experiences and will always communicate those to you in project contract before the project begins. As a rule of thumb we can build a basic four page web site in about 3.5 days.
Q. How much will it cost?
A. Project cost is like completion time and depends on the size and scope of the project but, we have included some price estimates here.
Q. When will the payments be due?
A. For most projects the payments are due at the beginning and end of the project. In most cases 50% of the project cost is due up front. On larger projects where it may span many months, a payment schedule will be set up and will be included in the contract.
Q. How can I pay?
A. We accept cash, check, PayPal, credit cards(Through PayPal), and bartering in some cases. Our invoicing system will include a link for you to pay online or you can mail it to the address on the invoice.
Q. Who will I contact for questions?
A. Sean Ainsley, Our owner and customer support representative, will work directly with you throughout the entire process. He can be reached at [email protected].
